Who you’ll be working for – MatchPoint is a Corporate Hospitality and Events company which specialises in hospitality sales for sports and arts events, including cricket, golf, rugby, tennis, football, and concerts.

Role overview – We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Sales Manager, with 3 plus years of sales experience and a track record in generating new business and achieving sales targets. The candidate should be a self-starter, able to drive sales growth, build rapport with customers and close deals. The role of Sales Manager is to achieve sales targets for the events and governing bodies we work predominately selling Scottish events to Scottish clients.
Experience in Hospitality Sales would be ideal, but other business to business sales are transferable. You should have knowledge of and enjoy sport.
Key responsibilities
Deliver new business sales
Call and close existing sales leads – proactive sales activity
Retain and nurture existing clients
Maintain and update sales and customer CRM records
Prepare sales reports and forecasts
Assist in the setting of new business strategy and plans
Key skills and personal competencies required:
Proven track record in achieving sales targets and developing business
Excellent communication and numeracy skills
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive
Ability to find, network, and connect with business customers
Service and solution orientated
Ability to take ownership and prioritise workload
Good team player
Computer literate and experience of CRM software
Understanding and interest in international sport and major events

Role overview – We are looking for someone ambitious, hardworking, and eager to learn with good initiative and an engaging personality. The role will be to assist and support the clients serving and marketing team. The candidate will need to provide a comprehensive administrative service to the team whilst working with a broad portfolio of responsibility. As well as providing support to the team for day-to-day activities, you will also be expected to support the Senior Management in ad-hoc projects. The ideal candidate will have 1 or 2 years post graduate work experience in events and or the hospitality environment. This person will work closely with and report directly to the Managing Director.
Key responsibilities
Event product administration for web display and client booking
Client data administration for marketing and sales purposes
Data capture and lead generation
Digital and marketing activity
Production and maintenance of sales and marketing collateral
Client communication / administration
Production and maintenance of event guest information
Company Representation at events

In 2022, England will host the Rugby League World Cup, which will be the biggest and best ever in its history that dates back to 1954 when the tournament began. 32 competing nations in the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions will play in 61 matches across 21 venues, including St James’ Park, Elland Road, Emirates Stadium, Copper Box Arena and Old Trafford. The most inclusive sport played in the biggest venues across the country.
RLWC2021 Hospitality is joint venture between RLWC and MatchPoint. We are selling and marketing the hospitality programme for the RLWC2021, now being staged in 2022.
