MatchPoint renews Scotland Rugby League Sponsorship

MatchPoint is delighted to announce it has renewed its official sponsorship of Scotland Rugby League in a new 4 year deal.

The Edinburgh-based, international corporate hospitality specialists with offices in Hong Kong and Sydney, are well known throughout the world of Rugby League.  MatchPoint provide a range of sports hospitality at events including State of Origin and the NRL Grand Final as well as previous World Cups including the latest tournament in 2017 held in 13 cities across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Neil Cunningham, Group Managing Director of MatchPoint said: "We have enjoyed working with Scotland Rugby League since 2013.  The sponsorship has been thoroughly enjoyable and very rewarding.   If our funding can help more people play more rugby, more often, then it is a winning result for all.

We have been witness to fantastic progress and development over the years and seen many great achievements and advancements throughout the SRL at World Cups, 4 Nations and the European Championships.

Our first involvement in the Rugby League was at the RLWC2000 and continuing to invest in and support grassroots sport and the development of juniors, wheelchair, women and “The Bravehearts” internationally, is a great opportunity."

MatchPoint will be supporting the Scotland Rugby League Students team in this year’s Student Four Nations with matches taking place against Ireland, Wales and England from 23 – 29 June at Peffermill Stadium, Edinburgh.

Chairman Keith Hogg commented "It is great for Scotland Rugby League to have a Scottish based company like MatchPoint continuing their sponsorship and providing excellent and imaginative support for both the development of the sport at youth level and the national team.

To work with a sponsor who is as interested in how a new young player gets involved locally in rugby league as they are in how our plans are going for World Cup qualification is tremendous.  The commitment that Neil Cunningham and Vicki Porter have shown to the development of the sport has been and continues to be fantastic There is a real meeting of values between the 2 organisations and that is always great to see."

MatchPoint began in 1992 and now has offices in Edinburgh, Hong Kong and Sydney. MatchPoint works in partnership with rights holders and venues to achieve their corporate hospitality objectives of maximising the commercial return providing excellence in delivery.
